Our Living Soil Mix is a game-changing soil blend designed for cannabis. It’s made to take your plants from seedling to harvest with nothing but water. Packed with essential nutrients, minerals, and beneficial microbes, this mix keeps your plants healthy and thriving for months.
We recommend a minimum of one cubic foot (7.5 gallons) per cannabis plant. My personal preference has been 20-25 gallons per plant with 2 months of vegging. When I have the space, I use 50+ gallons for outdoors, but the additional gallons are a mix of normal compost, leaf mold compost, or already used soil.
Works great indoors and outdoors. Keep in mind this is a living soil, We DO NOT sterilize any of our compost or soils and as a result it will contain a plethora of life, so you may find insects or tiny organisms inside — that’s a good thing! A healthy soil food web is key for true organic growing.
We only use premium-quality amendments and composts. These work together to create a rich, well-balanced, and biologically active soil. Our soil blends are the result of extensive research, testing, and lab analysis. Over a decade ago, Subcool’s super soil led us down a deep rabbit hole that sparked a lifelong obsession. Once I started to beat my own and other’s hydroponic results in quality, I knew I had to fully dive in. A few years later, and I was able to match quantity while beating quality in blind tests with our friends. It took some time, but we now have enough rabbits and worms to offer our soil and compost for sale so others who can see how fantastic and easy organic growing is to do with our products.
Made from 100% natural and organic materials, our mix contains no synthetic chemicals. There’s no need for bottled nutrients, and you won’t have to worry about burning your plants — just plant and water until harvest time (though a little compost tea never hurts and is recommended).
It’s reusable! Just refresh it between grows with additions of compost or amendments between harvests. If you don’t use salt based amendments, you don’t have to throw your soil away, which will save you a lot of money and labor in the long run.

I use their soil for my weed plants and my veggies. My garden thrived last year, im still not out of tomatoes or weed haha. The stuff i grew, using the soil and organic methods promoted here, is tastier and stronger than anything i get at a dispo. If youre not using cottontail cannabis products youre cheating yourself

Started using living soil a few years ago, started with build a soil, then Detroit nutrient company (don’t bother its not worth it), and then KIS organics, figured id give a local brand a try and man am i glad i did. I ran clones in fresh KIS, reamended KIS, reamended B.A.S., and fresh cottontail, and you can see a big difference in the plant, and you can taste and feel a difference in the medicine, it almost feels like a different strain. This next batch is all cottontail now with a fruity tropicana clone and im excited to see all the terps it brings out!
